Terms of Service

Last updated: 30 June 2026

1. Who these terms are between

These Terms of Service ("Terms") are a contract between you ("you", "the user", "the landlord") and Murat Nazari, trading as GuardLet ("GuardLet", "we", "us"), governing your use of guardlet.co.uk and the GuardLet application (together, "the Service").

By joining the waitlist, creating an account, or using the Service, you agree to these Terms. If you don't agree, please don't use GuardLet.

2. What GuardLet is — and isn't

GuardLet is a compliance tracking tool for UK private landlords. It helps you store certificates, track expiry dates, manage tenancy documentation and generate notice templates.

GuardLet is not a law firm, a letting agent, or a regulated provider of legal services. Nothing in the Service constitutes legal advice. The notices, checklists and reminders GuardLet provides are tools to help you stay organised — they don't replace your own legal obligations as a landlord, and you remain responsible for complying with all applicable law. For advice specific to your situation, consult a solicitor or a body such as the NRLA.

3. Accounts

4. Your data and your tenants' data

When you upload certificates, property details, or tenant information, you confirm that:

See our Privacy Policy for full detail on how we handle and protect this data.

5. Subscriptions and billing

6. Acceptable use

You agree not to:

We reserve the right to suspend or terminate accounts that breach these Terms.

7. Service availability

We aim to keep GuardLet available and reliable, but we don't guarantee uninterrupted access. We may need to carry out maintenance, and occasionally things break. We're not liable for losses arising from temporary unavailability of the Service.

8. Limitation of liability

GuardLet is a tool to help you track compliance — it is not a substitute for your own diligence as a landlord, and it does not guarantee compliance with any law or regulation. To the fullest extent permitted by law:

Nothing in these Terms excludes liability that cannot be excluded under UK law, such as liability for fraud or for death or personal injury caused by negligence.

9. Intellectual property

GuardLet, its branding, design and underlying software are owned by us. You retain ownership of any data and documents you upload. By using the Service, you grant us a licence to process that data solely to provide the Service to you.

10. Termination

You can close your account at any time. We may suspend or terminate accounts that breach these Terms, or where we reasonably believe doing so is necessary to protect the Service or other users. Where reasonably possible, we'll give notice before doing so.

11. Changes to these Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. If we make material changes, we'll notify account holders by email. Continued use of GuardLet after changes take effect means you accept the updated Terms.

12. Governing law

These Terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales. Any disputes will be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of England and Wales.
